Reiki is a natural relaxation / healing technique rediscovered the early 1900’s by Mikao Usui.

It is a safe, simple method of spiritual healing, used mainly through touch, utilizing the universal life force.

Uses include illness, injury, animals, plants, house cleansing, etc…the possibilities are endless.

Reiki is not an religion, but works well with all positive intent, not dependent on belief, it works whether you believe or not.

Reiki increases the beneficial effects of all modern medical treatments as well as increasing beneficial effects in all other areas of life, and will never harm.

Reiki is not taught, but is passed to the student through an "attunement" given by a Reiki master.

The Reiki Shack does eggs .. How to peel fresh eggs

A few years back we began to raise chickens, 11 of them .. that has turned into 100 chickens, plus ducks, geese, quail and guinea fowl... we started out giving eggs to friends and family.. many asked for more then we could come up with at the time.. was told "sell the eggs" so you can get more chickens.. "we would be happy to buy them".... we did just that.. as we were already known as The Reiki Shack for our craft sales... we kept that name for our egg as well .. note: we do attune all of our birds and add reiki to the eggs when we collect them and put them into cartons.. with a bit more added when we sell them ... as we do put the name on each carton, we have started to add stories about our chickens and egg recipes to our facebook page The Reiki Shack ... much of our time is spent caring for our birds and homestead these days.. we only do reiki classes by appointment now.. we do treatments on weekends at the farmers market where we sell our eggs and crafts.. as such we will be adding our chicken stories here as well :D

We get asked often how to hard boil fresh eggs so they can be easily peeled  ... after trying many ... many ... and a few more ways the only sure fire way we have come up with is so easy...
add your eggs to cool water, bring to boil.. cook for the hardness you want .. ( I add a touch of salt.. keeps the eggs from spilling out if one should crack while cooking )
For Large eggs:
  • Soft-cooked yolk 4 to 5 minutes
  • Medium-cooked yolk 6 minutes
  • Hard-cooked yolk 17 minutes
For Medium eggs:
  • Soft-cooked yolk 3 minutes
  • Medium-cooked yolk 5 minutes
  • Hard-cooked yolk 12 minutes
while boiling get a bowl/sink of ice cold water ready.. here in the desert ice melts too fast and cold tap water doesn't happen except in the dead of winter.. so I freeze water bottles and place in a sink full of water...
move the eggs straight from the boiling water to the ice water.. LEAVE until cooled off
then peel

these eggs are fresh from the coop..
